Lost Xp Key

ok, kinda stuck in a rut here.

Recently moved house, in the process have managed to migrate the cd, and authentication code, but no cd key. Now. microsoft, say, cus i bought it from OCUK as OEM, then i cant have a new cd key... I think this is rubbish, as I have a legit copy of windows. I am not trying to install over 2 pcs or anything, jst install 1 copy of xp to 1 pc.

Any ideas or help would b appreciated..

If you have Windows installed still you can use Magic Jelly Bean Finder: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml to view your CD key.

Some anti virus software pick the program above up as a virus... it's not.

the problem is that it hasnt bin installed yet

after more phone calls to microsoft, i have been told that any opperating softrware bought after august 2005 with OEM license that was not installed on the computer at time of purchase, is not available for support.

tbh, this is completely stupid... Does anyone know of a way around this.

Hmm, I don't think there is any way round it unless you managed to get Microsoft to give you a CD-Key

You need to contact the OEM provider, not MS.
