Just signed up for a free 10 day trial even though i've played this game extensively when it first came out. However I just had an email through offering me the full game for $9.99 with 30 days of game play included. However this offer ends 30th June.

If I buy the game before the 30th, will my 30 days start from the end of the 10 day trial or from when I buy the game?
 
Ok, having a really strange problem now. I have the client installed and it's all patched, updated and ready to go. I thought i'll just bypass the trial, not fussed about losing 10 days and bought online via turbines digital download. However I can't login to the game using the user/pass i've activated and registered through turbine.

I can login to turbines account pages no problem, but when I try and use the same user/pass to access the game via the launcher I get a user/pass not recognised error.

What i've just thought it that I bought the game via a $9.99 offer, will this not be compatible with my launcher as it's US $.

My launcher details are...

Hmmm...sounds like you have a mixture there of US and EU versions of the game. The EU version is run by Codemasters and the US version is run by Turbine.

So for the EU version of LOTRO, you need the EU client and the account set up here https://cogaccounts.codemasters.com/

Whereas for the US version of LOTRO , you need the US client and the account set up here https://myaccount.turbine.com/

(Remember that if you have an EU one you cant play on the US one and vice versa)

If you bought it by turbine, then you will have bought the US version.
 
Ah FFS...surely there should be some geographic restriction preventing peeps from the UK from signing up for the US version of the game, I thought it was all one and the same.

Guess I need to mail them now and see if they'll shift my account to an EU one :(

Would be nice...mind you I suppose that would then prevent armed forces personnel based temporarily in other countries from doing it.

They won't shift your account, well its most unlikely
EU side if run by codemasters, and US side is run by turbine, 2 separate companies. Its almost as if CM licence to distribute and run servers from Turbine.
There is little crossover, althought the code is similar. Turbine deployed a book 9 patch last week, wasn't a great sucess, so CM held off until the hotfixes arrive, as they've done before.

LOTRo is great fun, I love it loads. The DLs are completely different and not interchangable, as EU has language localisation content which US doesn't have, and clearly points to an entirely different server set.
 
Just had a nice surprise, woke up, checked email and had a reply saying let them know my order details and they'll sort me out a full refund. It's nice to get an email like this without having to resort to threatening chargebacks and so on :)
 
Codemasters & Turdbine operate two totally different account systems for the US/EU so transferring your account is not likely
