lotro - the install procedure

Good heavens, this game takes an absolute age to finish installing.

I'm on the update game data bit, its at 8% after 15 minutes.

Thats one way of making sure people dont uninstall your game, have a install procedure thats so lengthy that it would be torture to go through again.

I dont get why it takes so long to install.

When I played it, I got the sense the game world wasnt as big as it should have been, it didnt feel like the whole of middle earth to me.

Firstly, where did you get the installer from? If it is not the latest one you are downloading a lot of patches, secondly, which version are you downloading? Dont bother with the eu one at this point as they merge in a week. The game world is absolutely massive, dont know how you can call it small.

I think LOTRO is about 16GB worth of data, so unless you have a very fast connection, go do some knitting or something
