Lotro updates, how long...

I just found my old lotro collectors edition i bought about 2 years ago, thought i'd give this game another shot. I remember it looked amazing, played great and had a maturity wow can only dream about.

Have gone ahead and installed from the disk but it's taking ages and ages for the updates to run through, roughly how long might this take, was hoping to get a few hours in before work at 2. I'm on a 4meg line btw.

Its a known issue with the patcher, if its running slow - try stopping it and starting it again, do it several times. Should see some improvement.

If you are downloading 2 years worth of patches, then I'm afraid you're in for quite a wait

Well i've got the bulk of content from the dvd, my line runs at 4 meg and it's going at capacity at the moment. My shadows of angmar launcher has restarted and now says mines of moria instead, currently on download 300 of 29678

Been downloading for 8 hours now at 400kb/s restarted the launcher a few times atm its 660% complete lol, should have patched up overnight i think

if you install the retail SoA dvd then patch through client it will take forever..

find a site that has the seperate patch files and grab them and apply in order,

I did, what i mean is i left it running, but got back and was on like 500% so restarted it

other annoying thing is you can't patch the game unless you have a valid sub. i play every 3-4 months and have to patch before playing which actually makes me more likely to resub wow rather than lotro as i keep wow up to date.

ok took me 10 hours to patch up from my original dvd was downloading constant 400kb/s
