LoTRO...worth it?

alright im a level 7 minstrel on Laurelin, name Minato.

I've never actually played a healer before in any game, so I thought i'd try it out this time around. Normally I go for the sorcerer/mage type class, then when I get 1 shotted by things, give up and roll with a more durable ranger type.

Aaanyways, yeah, healer. Should be fun (or insanely boring, can't tell yet :P)

My main used to be a Minstrel. (I tend to always play healers in MMOs).

Dont forget to get a nice array of instruments for the different bonuses (assuming it still works this way), Drums for damage bonus, Theorbo for threat reduction when you are grouped etc etc

I have the original game from release but never really gave it much time. Codemasters sent me an email saying I can play for free for 1 week starting next week and I think I'll give it a try. My question is are there any downloads/patches I should get in preparation?

I assume the game has been updated since release, but the patch system on the official site is a bit confusing mentioning books/Volume 3 and such.

Am I best just downloading the full game, or installing the DVD then seeing what happens.

Well after 20 mins I downloaded 25mb. Now installing from the DVD from a few years ago. Will let you know what happens when I attempt to run the game.

Also.
Can anyone recommend a realm to play on. Preferably a newer realm where there are plenty of low level players, or is there an OCUK players realm?

Update.
Ran the game update service and currently it's downloading game files. at 4% after 5 mins. Good luck getting yours up and running OCDStevo.
