Hey guys,

Just out of interest, how many times a day should my router (585i v6) be re-syncing?

Was playing CoD online earlier and it was really annoying to keep losing my connection… It must have happened about 3 times in 1 hour.

I checked the router log through DMT and I noticed that the router had re-synced 46 times since I last rebooted, 2 days ago! Is this normal

I’m only slightly tweaking my snr, but even when I don’t it still happens?

I’m with Nildram atm, so could this be the reason for all my woes :(

Currently 2656kbps, 56dB att, 13dB snr.

Cheers,

SW.

Beg steal or borrow a router and filters to see what happens.
If the problem still exists, check with your ISP.

Also is the router on the master socket or running an extension?

Also see if you can acertain if "interleaving" is active.

(this steadies your conncetion at the expense of an increased ping)

If so how long.
As well as the 585i, I also periodically use my old Netgear DG834G - although I always tend to sync a lot lower on this - but this is a know issue.

Currently using Speedtouch filters all round the house, 5 in total. I might try a new one on the routers line though, that ones about a year old.

The router is connected to the second extension in the house, about 15 meters away from the master. Whenever I've use the master in the past though for testing any problems, the stats have always stayed the same, so I'm pretty sure that the extension cable is okay :)

I know for sure that interleaving is on - Nildram told me...

I might just hold out and see if anything improves with UKFS/Aquiss? If not, let them deal with it, probably got more chance of them doing something than Nildram :(

Cheers,

SW.

I’ve considered getting one of those faceplates before, but all the internal wiring in our home is internal :)

The other option would be to keep the router downstairs, but I’ve never been a big fan of wireless…
