A lot of people are experiencing problems across various websites in the UK. I have experienced slow downs and other problems. So yes something is up with a lot of backhauls.
I don't know the reason for this but I know a lot of experiencing problems tonight so don't think your troubles are unique.
Just wanted to put this message out and not in network & connectivity as hardly anyone bothers to go in it when they are having problems.

I'm actually having chew with some websites and thought it was just me.

Can't get on speedtest or imgur.

Tried uploading a new signature to imgur as my current one isn't loading and now I know why.

Yep having probs loading sites, and Xbox Live got disconnected :/ VM are really starting to annoy me!

Having to tether through my 3 mobile connection!

msn seems to have stopped working for me with a mix results from different websites i use some are up some are down. on virgin if that helps wonder if its related to a ISP ro something.

On Virgin here and can't get to a single Microsoft service, Hotmail, Xbox Live, MSN, even MSE won't update. Everything else seems to be working fine.

Broadband feature interruptions

The following issues may be affecting some aspects of your Virgin Media Broadband service.

Date Issue raised: January 16 2012, 22:16
Estimated repair time: January 18 2012, 02:12
Fault reference: F001859761

Intermittent issues here with VM. Thought it was solved earlier but it's not - roughly 1/3 of the websites I usually access are down for me, 1/3 are intermittent, and 1/3 are fine.
MSN messenger is working fine for me niroe, but MSE won't update.

Why did I open my mouth, having major issues now, almost nothing will load, these forums & Google being the exception!

Using googles dns and on virgin media same problems as everyone else. Msn down and cant load netflix or other sites

Don't think its just a VM issue - atleast I seem to be being affected by it on BT - several sites are very slow to load and getting the odd disconnection from certain services - tho nothing as bad as people on VM are reporting. (Unless its just due to lots of VM users losing connection and reconnecting to stuff at the same time causing mini DOS effect).
