Lots of white dots in videos

Ive got a problem wth video playing in media programs...

Whenever i watch a video i get white dots fuzzing up all around the screen (Moving around). It doesent just happen on one video file it also happens with DVDs. I have tried it with all the media players i have but its still the same.

Does anyone know what may be causing this problem or have any ideas how i can solve it?

I had exactly the same problem with my 7800GS AGP card.

I also had red dots on my desktop.

My solution: replace card. lol.

I couldn't be bothered to track down the problem myself.

I had that problem when I connected an LCD TV to my PC and set the refresh rate too high. Try lowering it to 60Hz.

Sorry to sound patronising, but have you rebooted the machine?

If so, try reinstalling drivers.

I changed the refresh rate and now it works fine
