I'm trying to find a quiet blu-ray player, I just sent back my 2nd Sony BDP-S1500 because the disc spinning/vibration is just too loud I can hear it over the TV sound, quite an obnoxious whiring/buzzing like its spinning at 100% speed for no reason at all.
I sit around 200cm away from my TV and the player will be out in the open right next to the TV.
Are there any blu-ray players which have little sound while a disc is in?
When I say quiet I mean quiet, you cant hear it unless you put your ear on it quiet.

Why not consider a solution that is better suited to your acoustic requirements, such as ripping and/or encoding the BD's? You could house the noise away from where you view your content and have a much nicer media experience than having to swap discs when you want to watch something.

I dont have the space to rip them thats all.
And i have no choice where the player is.
Surely there should be a silent player on the market somewhere?

Are you sure that it's the player at fault here? I have odd disk which sound as described in the OP in my player but most are fine and I have always put it down to a disk issue making them slightly unbalanced causing a vibration when they spin rather than a player issue as not every disk is affected.

I'm sure the OP's player is fine it's just some people are very sensitive to the noise.

I can here my bluray player spinning when I watch movies as well, it's also a Sony player. I've gone through a few players. A Panasonic flagship bdt500 which was noisy and now a budget Sony s5500 which is slightly noisy as well. I've adapted to it though.

Maybe the high end Oppo players are better?

I just got a Philips BDP2110 yesterday and the drive on that is pretty quiet even with one disc that made quite the racket in my older BDP3000, so that might be an option and it's around the same price as the sony BDP-S1500 at the moment.
