Hi chaps in need of some help

i was in a game of bf all of a sudden a loud buzzing and the hole thing crashed with black screen and still buzzing.

i have just installed a new mobo msi 990fxa-gd80 along with an fx 8350 cpu.

i have had a very slight wine previous before changing some parts today..

my gpu is msi hd7970 and pcu is cx750

can anyone help with my bad description please as im such a noob

thanks in advance

try latest display drivers from amd,set the power control slider to 20% in catalyst control centre/amd overdrive

then see if its any better,if not id look into setting up your pc memory better, maybe bit more cpu northbridge voltage

will look now cheers

i have had my pc on all day just loaded up iracing 3 laps later pc crashes... as stated i have just installed the new mobo and cpu also as suggested i have updated all the latest software/drivers ect after it crashes the only way i can get pc to produce a picture on screen is unplug the pcie cables.

i have had buzzing before from reading maybe coil wine however i have never lost my display ect...

any help appriciated

the buzzing is just the pc lockingup/crashing,ive had it happen to me while playing games

its usually either ram/setting/voltage or cpu setting/voltage

is that with power control slider at 20%? could try clean install of amd/gpu drivers but first download display driver uninstaller and use that to uninstall them with

i havnt touched any sliders buddy its stock settings and i will try a fresh install tomoz.

you need to try at 20%,i have a 7850 card that always crashes/locks up till I raise the power control, then its fine

Cheers for ad ice appreciate it

well half hour on bf ultra settings and it was fine even the slight buzz was really quite so hopefully sorted it...

once again thanks for the advice

well after a night of gaming it crashed again totally locked my system i had to unplug the gpu and pc to reset it finally got a picture after 20 mins of trying...

is there any possibility i could have a faulty mobo??? if so is there any tests i could do or other symptoms???

i have on 2 occasions had a freeze for maybe 10 seconds were i couldnt do anything accept move the mouse.

would there be a right or wrong way to put my ram on mobo??? i have 2 black and 2 blue slots... i have them both 2x 4gb in the black slots.

ive got them in 1 and 3, i will change them over. just had another freeze with google chrome not responding couldnt click on anything at all, I haven't changed anything at all just downloaded msi live update so i had all the latest drivers installed

ok lovely job would explain a lot as my brother got exactly the same set up and put them in 2 and 4 no probs my bad didnt think it mattered

Don't know if this will help at all but I had a very similar issue with a pre-built rig from overclockers. Playing a game and then suddenly a continuous sound glitch and then have to force a shutdown.

After trying everything I could think of I checked the asus website for the drivers and found out that there had been a sound card driver update and the one installed was from the supplied CD. Updated the driver and 2 years later it has never crashed.

Don't know if this will be of any help but just another option.

thanks for the tip... i have uninstalled the hdmi sound drivers as i run 5.1 logitech surround so wasnt needed and read in another thread somewere that it can course issues but cant remember for the life of me what lol..

i have just changed my ram to ports 2&4 and hoping for the best to be fair it seems a little quicker and smoother maybe just me imagining things but i have had no freezing as of yet...

fingers crossed

well thought it was to good to be true still getting freezing while browsing the whole computer freezes up cant even click windows button only thing that stays active is my mouse..

as stated before all my components are new but i didnt do the freezing before i got the mobo and cpu, can i presume one of the 2 is faulty or would i say its a google chrome thing???

as for the gpu still getting the buzz while gaming but with the 20% power it doesnt crash however this is going back to msi under warranty.
