Loud popping noise when turning on power at mains

When I turn on the power to my PC at the mains after it has been off overnight I've started hearing an unusually loud popping noise coming from the PC. I think this is coming from the PSU and when I checked the back of it I can see a small spark coming from inside the PSU when I turn it on. This only happens when it has been off overnight, not if I turn it off and on again after a short interval. Is this something to be concerned about? The PSU is a 4 year old Corsair HX1000.

So after a little bit of searching, apparently this could be normal inrush current when charging the capacitors and you're not supposed to turn it off at the wall, though it's strange that it only recently started happening. The PSU functions completely normally and there's no noise or sparking when it's on.

It should still be under warranty, so let Corsair take care of it.

Problem is I'd still have to buy a new PSU to use while it is being RMA'd.

For my RMA replacement they sent a brand new 2023 HX1000i ATX 3.0/PCIe 5.0, probably because they have no stock of the HX1000 as it looks like it's discontinued. I already replaced it with another PSU while it was being RMA'd, not sure if I should try selling the RMA replacement or keep as a spare.
