So this just popped up on Netflix and I think I must have watched at least the first season previously on Amazon prime as there's a post from me 4 years ago on this site about it.

It's pretty funny though, I think I'm going to rewatch the whole thing.

Ron Livingstone is the lead, star of Office Space and known for Band of Brothers and many other things.

He's a recovering alcoholic trying to help run and maintain a support group in NYC.

Has a proper nostalgic 90's feel and is a pretty good feel good show in general, despite the difficulties many of the characters are going through. Nice easy watch.

I finished it over the weekend and really enjoyed it.

I think what makes it was the fact that so many of the "supporting" cast were all generally really good, which combined with the writing and the main cast just hit it right.
It wasn't "everyone is nice" or people being mean for the sake of it, by the end of season 3 you actually had most of the reoccurring characters fleshed out a fair bit, and the dialogue reminded me of some of my friends, we'll be merciless to each other in jokes at times but everyone is also looking out for each other.

The first and last season are the best. It's a shame it got canned as I think it was well set for a good 5th season.

Yeah, the end of the final season actually caught me off guard. I didn't expect it to end so suddenly, I felt a bit sad about how it ended so abruptly. Would have loved to have seen a final season of those reprobates hash it all out

Been chipping away at this over the week and finished it last night, S1 was the best for me, the rest was decent and kept my attention but didn't quite have the same flow / feeling as s1.

From the trailer at the coffee shop was going into this expecting a different type of show but it worked.
