Georgia Harrison, a violence against women campaigner, says she has talked to ‘a couple of Labour MPs’ about standing in Essex

Whilst I think it can be a good thing to expand the reach of Parliament beyond the usual career politicians, what exactly are Georgia Harrison's qualifications or interest in becoming an MP? As far as I can see, she's not had any long-standing political views and just because you've recently had some attention for something good you've done, it doesn't suddenly make you an MP.

Can somebody explain what I am missing?
