Anyone have any experiences with this company? More specifically, the free trials.

I am going to sign up for the 90 day free trial but not sure how easy it will be to cancel if I want to before the trial is over.

Pretty easy to do, its either online cancelation or sometimes i found they required you to phone up the call centre and cancel via that but its all pretty simple, just a tip though, send the disks back say a week before needing to cancel but before sending the disks back empty your wish list then once they reach lovefilm they wont send you any more, and then just cancel

I was with them for years (from when they used to be called DVD's On Tap) and never had any problems with them.

They started quite small compared to the other online rental companies that are around now - ithey must be one of the biggest now as they supply the dvds for some of the virtual DVD rental stores.

You just need to make if you want to cancel the tril that you do it within the 30 days and send the DVDs back to them.

The only reason i cancelled with them was that i used to get the DVDs and sometimes never had time to watch them. Which was a waste.

I would be good if they could set up a service were you could make an account, pre-load it with say amounts of £5 then for £1 rent a DVD for 1 week. Then rent the next DVD when you want (ie in a few weeks and use the next chunck of your preload account)

I decided to sign up but get the message, "There was a problem verifying your card. Please check card details and try again." when entering my payment details.

I also had similar problems trying to set up my paypal account. It's an Alliance and Leicester Visa Debit Card

I had no real issues with them other than the latest films never seeming to go out. I had some latest films at the top of my queue for about 6 months and they never arrived.

I've just finished my 3month free trial with tesco dvd rental (whom lovefilm provide the service for iirc) and it was a fantastic service. Discs got sent out within 2 days of sending the other ones back, excellent choice and range in dvd's. the only thing i didnt like was the fact that you have to have 10 or more dvd's in your rental queue so you migt ht not get the ones you really want first (the priority setting thing didnt really work for me).

Cancellation is really easy too, just cancel it online before you send the last discs back, making sure you get them back to them before the free trial ends.

I recently cancelled my account with them (which was surprisingly easy to do) as I wasn't really using it as much as I used to. As far as the service goes they were spot on, would recommend them to anyone.

Anyone got any ideas how to resolve this? It's really been bugging me. :(

I called the activation number a few weeks ago and the dude said he activated it but I have not been able to set up a paypal account on it or this either.

Been using it a couple of months now.

I think its a good service. I'm on the two DVD unlimited (with games) package.

It's good because if I watch them and return them the next morning, I can maybe watch three films a week.

The only downside I find is that I'm paying for the game package and haven't had a single game sent to me yet... I guess people keep them a lot longer than films. I'm also finding that I tend to get sent a lot of films that are in my low priority list, despite having lots in my high and medium priority list. Other than that, I can't fault it.

I use Tesco DVD Rental which is powered by Lovefilm. No complaints really, very fast and efficient service. They don't seem to care if DVDs get lost in the post either. One of my first discs (typical) never arrived and I expected them to be funny about it but they sent another one out immediately.

I had to remove all the DVDs from my list for a few days to make them send me a game I wanted.

Also if your account drops below 10 DVDs they carry on sending them out. I currently only have about 6 titles in my list I think. I just keep receiving emails pestering me to add more :p

I used them as ScreenSelect for a while, never seemed to get the newer films though, but they were good with TV stuff. Turnaround was usually 48 hours.

Then switched to Blockbuster. They are completely the opposite, great on new films, but not so good on anything older or TV. Turnaround is same day with them.

Set up lists on your account so you have one for DVDs and one for games. Make sure you allocate a disc to the games list and you'll get games sent out pretty easily, it might take a few days with nothing being sent but they will send them out so you're not sitting with an unused allocation.

They were pretty good, turnaround times are good, and easy to cancel (i think if you wait till after 10, you can cancel online). Just make sure you post the dvds and cancel that same day otherwise you might cancel after they send a new batch of dvds to you and you could get shafted

I just signed up for a three month trial, I'm assuming that they choose the DVDs on your list to send to you?

They do but you can prioritise your list and they will try and send you the dvd's that are at the top of your list.

Cheers, I didn't realize that you could assign discs to lists. Hopefully should get a game now this week!

I'm on the Tesco rental one, supplied by Lovefilm, and so far no hastle at all for me, having said that it's been a month nearly since I last got my DVDs and I haven't watched them yet. Ah well must do so. It's well worth it.
