Hi all,

I have recently upgraded my old Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro to an Ultima 90I; ready for 45nm goodness. My god I am impressed, at 3.2Ghz (400FSB) the ACF7Pro gave me load temps appraoching 60C on each core, with the Ultima 90I I struggle to break 45C. Everything else has stayed the same.

Heres a Pic hope you can see it as it is my first on imageshack.

I just wish my RAM wasn't so rubbish, otherwise I would shoot for 3.6Ghz. I would recommend the Ultima90 to anyone who wants decent Air cooling without a lot of the weight of the TRUE120.

Im happy for you m8, but 90mm cooling esp for Overclockers is so out of date.

There is not much weight in the newer 120mm coolers, all the weight is at base so close to point of fixing to the Mobo and fins are mostly all now Alu not Copper. ;)

Size isn't everything you know ;)

My rubbish install as far, that's an Sflex 1600rpm on the Ultima.

Impressive performance. The Ultima 90i + 120mm fan is certainly a very good alternative to some of the larger coolers around.

You sould have that facing rear of case even with that roof fan, I thinik you get better temps.

You would think so, but after messing around with my old heatsink I found that this way knocked at least 5C of each core under load which allowed me the extra 100mhz at the time. Pointing to the roof-fan in my configuration just seems to work better.

I did make a thread on it at the time, either here on on hardocp.

I've found it an awsome cooler even with a lowley Sharkoon 1000 120mm fan.

It can still cool my e2160 to about 31 at idel and about 60 at load when its at 3.4Ghz.

and it's much cheaper that most of the big boy coolers.

The ultima is a great cooler, really holds its own against the Tuniq Tower and TRU120. I tried fitting it on my Asus Maximus Formula but the bracket mount is about 2mm too big and clashes with the chipset heatsink.

Fits fine on my Asus P5E with is basically the same board with the same cooling layout as a Maxis Formula !

When i first fitted mine i thought i'd have to hack a bit off the coolers only the realise i'd fitted it the wrong way around !
