Low 3870k passmark result

ok so i have used performance test passmark and only receive a little over 3000 passmark. but the website shows it should be 4800

does this mean my cpu is knackered or has passmark overshot it a bit?

Passmark is a terrible benchmark. My 3570k scored well under other's results, while scoring normally on nearly all other bench programs.

looks like i will be deleting that. could you please give me some info on a good benchmark software.

i want to be able to get a before and after for when i get my kit for overclocking this cpu

Cinebench 11.5 is pretty good for testing a CPU in single and multi core operation.

3dmark11 is good for GPUs.

There are loads of good benchmarks:
GPU - Unigen, 3D mark11, Vantage etc etc
CPU- Super Pi, Pi fast, Wprime, CPU tests on 3Dv antage.
