Low 3d mark score, 4870 ??

10454 3DMarks with my new HIS 4870 ???? seems a bit low, since ive got 4 gigs of ram and E6600 c2d 2.4ghz.
I have the beta hotfix drivers.

Games seem fine tho, crysis runs nicely

Could be your cpu holding you back as it doesnt look like you have it overclocked.

It's your CPU, 3dmark06 is largely CPU limited.

yea i was thinking that, i also have vista but that shouldnt be to much trouble. 3dmark score aside in game FPS is really good. Im able to play crysis, unreal 3, world in conflict, tf2 at nice FPS.

Thats what counts.

If a high score in 3d mark mean something to you, then get a quad core and clock it to 4ghz!

Try 3dmark vantage. Its very good at isolating the gpu for the gpu score.

yep, just upgraded from AMD 3800x2 to 6000x2 and the difference is crazy (rest of spec was unchanged as per sig)

tbh as long as you are happy with overall performance then thats all that matters

Hi, just a newbie here.

there is a question about this, is the processor really makes a lot different? why the different is so absurb between quad core and the other processor hence 3Dmark06 calculated GPU and processor power. I got around 17.500 from my system.

3d mark 06 just gives a high weighting to the CPU at the resolution of the standard test (1280x1024, no AA)

btw what gpu and cpu are you running?

all my games run fine, ive just finished crysis and i was happy with my card. Ill be getting crysis warhead in the morning so ill see how that fars, but looking at the reviews they say it runs a lot better than crysis overall i couldnt be more happyer with my 4870, a nice boost from my old X1950 pro.

indeed, well i have crysis warhead now and it runs it great on Gamer setting (high) DX10. It runs a lot better than crysis did, and even looks better.
