Using :

Intel quadCore q6600 @ 2.4
Gigabyte P35-DS3R
OcUK 8800GTX 768
4GB Corsair 800Mhz

Ran 3DMark 06 and got a score of 7910,then Using Rivatuner i Upped my Core Clock to 620,and my 3DMark Score rised by 21 :(

Anyone got any ideas why this score is so low ?

cheers

3DMark 06 is a very intensive benchmarking app and will put your system through it's paces. The Q6600 is at the bottom of the Intel Quad Core family, maybe your components just can't rise to the challenge. You might have better luck with 3dmark 03 or 05.

Also what sort of hard drives are you using ?

no his are low, i got 11600 with my spec!

Hitachi Deskstar 7K160 160GB SATA-II 8MB,thats my HDD

I dno About overclocking,i dont want my PC to Die ..

that score seems quite low, with the spec in my sig all @ stock i get 10500 or so with the cpu clocked @ 3.74ghz and the gts @795/1095/2039 i can manage 14997. even at stock a gtx and a quad should be well over 10000, make sure 3dmark is ran at 1280x1024 and set everything in the driver control panel to performance and disable aa/af

This was my 3rd attempt

I get 12,372 on the following:

Asus Striker II Extreme
Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3Ghz
2GB DDR3 1333Mhz CAS7
BFG 8800 GTS 512 OC w/ 169.25
Vista Home Premium 64-bit

That's with preferences set to performance in NCP, and running the free 3DMark06 test.

So yeah, I'd say that your system isn't getting as high as it should be. Not sure if mine is either tbh.

Try a complete reinstall on a different hard drive if you can. Install latest drivers etc and then run 3DMark. If you get a higher score, whatever is limiting your performance on your current hard drive obviously isn't installed on the trial hard drive. Can help you identify the problem.

I've got 12122 with my e2200 @3.3, 2gb GeiL at 890mhz 4-4-4-12, and HD3870 stock not OCed ;-).

You can OC Q6600 to 2.8 straight away on stock cooling, dont use windows software for it. just go to the bios and rise the FSB, make sure you disable speedstep and c1e.
