Low 80s too hot?

Ok I did this and the highest temp I saw was 68C, so you are right it is the air flow. Should I just buy a new case, I've had this one since 2013.
Depends on how much you willing to spend. My recomendations for airflow cases (that are also pretty good in all aspects) are the be quiet 500dx (though doesn't come with lots of fans, you need to buy some yourself), the lancool 2 mesh or the newly released lancool 3, and the fractal torrent (either the mid or the full tower one). The last one is pretty expensive but it comes fully equipped with fans everywhere (except an outtake on the back which you don't need). Youll see a huge difference in your temps with all these options.

EG1. Also phanteks has some good options, the p400 and p500 mesh versions are pretty good but I haven't personally tried them

that Cooler Master Storm Trooper Case looks like a good airflow case. tons of fans front to back. you sure you dont have fans going in opposite directions causing air to stagnate? would be ideal to setup as a wind tunnel so front fans intake the cooler air and all other fans exhaust it.

For the absolute best with air cooling, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/fractal-design-torrent-black-tg-dark-tint-mid-tower-ca-09v-fd.html

On a budget, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/be-q...ower-case-black-tempered-glass-ca-13w-bq.html

In a well cooled system on these AMD chips gaming will often produce some of the highest CPU temps because it's often a single core getting hammered with a combination of voltage, current and under PBO, the highest frequency it can manage. Look at HWINFO and while you will see something like 70~80 degrees being the CPU temp, it's a reading coming off of one or two cores. The other cores will be much lower in temp.

Temps are within spec OP, but as you've seen yourself you've got an airflow "issue" in your current case and you can drop temps with a better case/fan layout.

Rather than rebuilding the entire PC in another case I would definitely look to remove as much of the front section as possible. Put as many fans on the front as possible, and possibly give it a good clean if from 2013.

Whilst you won't get exactly the same as open bench temps, it should get close given how large the case is. Saves £100+ as well as it sounds like you are otherwise happy with the case.

The current fan setup isn't ideal.

Just seen people in the comments saying it needs to be modified to install lots of intake fans at the front.

Yeah I couldn't figure out how to do it, another good thing about a new case is that it would run a lot quieter, this thing sounds like a hovercraft when it struggles to keep my system cool. I put the side panel back on and it hit 80C once in BF 2042, with the side panel off it hit 70C once but mostly around low 60s.

With panel on mostly mid to high 60s with occasional spikes over 70 and up to 80C once. Its within spec but sounds awful with all those fans ramping up.

I put an ordinary desktop fan at the front of the case blowing in at full pelt with the side panel on and it reached a maximum temp of 67C but mostly under 60C. So shows what can be achieved when you have the right air flow.

Also ran a test with PBO enabled, in Battlefield 2042 it reached a max temp of 71C and I ran a Cinebench R23 test and it maxed out at 79C whereas it was 83C without the desktop fan blowing in.

Well I’ve gone ahead and ordered a Fractal Design Torrent Black Dark Tint Windowed PC Gaming Case. My old case was over 9 years old and still had spaces for internal Blu-Ray drives. I use an external one.

Excellent choice, the Fractal Torrent midtower is probably the best air-cooling case out there right now unless you want to go to a much bigger or even more expensive option.

Good review https://youtu.be/HBxo2_lwKps

I paid £103.83 ex VAT for my Coolermaster Storm Trooper back in January 2013. This Fractal Torrent costs me £158 ex VAT inc 5% Jersey GST and delivery.

Don't concern yourself about it OP.
I’ve got an air flow problem, maybe you don’t but I am seeing higher CPU temps than I should while gaming. Running CPU tests like Cinebench doesn’t affect it as it’s the heat being dumped into the case by the GPU at the same time which is not being effectively dealt with by the cases cooling system.

I am exactly the same with a case not ideal for my 3070 card. It will be cooler when the heat goes. Low 80s in this heat is fine . I hit 77-78 when I game and that's with a dark rock but only in the 60s when I peg the cpu 100 % on cinebench.

It’s cooler when I take the side panel off the case or blow air into the front of the case with a desktop fan which shows it’s not just the summer heat.
yes that's right! But low 80s is fine! it'll be lower in the winter.

If you want to change your case obviously up to you . Im just saying you don't have to.
