This isn't for me but its for a friend. The budget is only 300 pounds she might be able to stretch it a bit more if i can help her out.

I am giving her a old monitor 1680 x 1050 it needs to be capable of running gw 2 at that res.

Is it even possible to get a gaming pc for that price?

I am a bit out of touch when it comes to low budget pc gaming. And i don't have much experience buying 2nd hand parts online.

Thanks for the help lads she gets paid on Thursday and she seems keen will be going with the 6850 for sure.

Looking forward to building it :)

Get card now its on, This Week Only
Special offers running from 11/07/12 to 18/07/12

If anything I'd grab the PSU on offer. The 6850s (single and dual fan) have been alternating on offer at £83 from week to week lately.....I cant guarantee that will continue to happen though obviously.

You are of course right. However the 6850 with a pentium processor will not demand much power.

The H61 mobo in that prebuild doesn't do sataIII either. Which is why many of us suggest the GB D3V mobo....i used one, it's a nice lil mobo.

Case is personal preference really, I tried to use something half decent and getting a modular PSU is a help too especially for £40ish.

Although I went over budget it's worth keeping in mind that you are getting more than 1 year warranty on the parts (length varies between parts and my B grade 1TB HDD is under 1 year warranty, being an exception). She is definately better off than buying a PC off the shelf retail by having it built by the OP. The cheap systems use the G620 and we have tried to get the G840 in which I have used and does have a fair bit of poke for the price :D

If an OS is needed you can use the developers copy of windows 8. It's officially released in Oct. so you could choose an OS then ;)

and personally I wouldn't worry about not having SATAIII the only time it would ever come into play is if you bought a SSD and even then only with large file transfers. The self built system has a better PSU but a smaller Hdd.

Had no idea you could build such a cheap gaming rig. Would this actually run GW2 ? I guess i should check the min specs. 8-)
