Hi,

My inlaws have just tasked me to find them a PC for under £500. I built my gaming PC around 2 years ago, and would have no trouble speccing them a gaming PC, however they don't need a gaming PC. So I have a budget of £500 max. Which will need to include everything.

Can anyone spec me something for around £400-£500 (Inc windows 10), I don't need a GPU. they'll only use it for browsing /work / media etc.

Hi, have you tried the pc configurator?

Play around with the spec a bit and you can get almost everything (except speakers, options for headsets but not speakers!), for just under £500.

That included an Intel i3, 8Gb Ram, Windows 10, DVD-writer, 22" Asus Monitor & a cheap Microsoft keyboard & mouse + a wifi card.

Hope it helps :)

I just got a better result (cheaper), using the Professional Office PC configurator.

Again, play around with the spec. You'd have to add a monitor, keyboard/mouse & speakers separately with this configurator, no idea why it doesn't give that option.....

My spec using this was:- AMD A8-6600K Quad Core, 4GB Ram, 1TB HDD, 300Mbps wificard, DVD-Writer & Windows 10 for £360. That leaves you £140 for a monitor, keyboard/mouse set & speakers etc, could also maybe upgrade the ram to 8Gb if u wanted to :)
