low budget pc build

My Nephew wants a PC for christmas so I thought I would ask here for advice for a ideas on what to get him. I have a spair graphics card so all he needs is a mobo, cpu, ram and HD. Price is £300-£400

True but my sister is looking to buy a part every month etc rather then all at once.

My old Graphics card is a Saphire Radeon HD 6950 I think. I cant remember now but pretty sure thats it. Also would that CPU run games ok? or would it be worth spending extra on an i5
