Good Morning, Evening or Night.

Im looking to beef up a system i built 6 months ago, on a low budget.

All stock No OC, wouldn't know were to start with OC.

Motherboard = Ga-F2A55M-DS2 - http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4352#ov

Memory = 2x 4gb corsair ddr3 600mhz - http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/cmx8gx3m2a1600c9

CPU = AMD A10 6800K 4.1 - http://products.amd.com/en-us/searc...or-Desktops/A10-6800K-with-Radeon™-HD-8670D/7

Graphics Card = VTX R9 270x x edition ddr5 2gb - http://www.eteknix.com/vtx3d-rolls-r9-270-x-edition-dual-fan-cooling-design/

PSU = PowerCool 850W Fully Wired 80+ Power Supply - http://www.overclock.co.uk/product/...AUBA-Quad-12v-V22-80-Efficiency-PSU_6483.html

HDD = 2x old school Western Digital 500gb running raid - competitor

Base Unit = competitor , with 2x custom systen fans.

Current Cpu temp 47c idle 58c max using HWMonitor
49c idle 60c max using cpu therm.

Any recommendation to beef up this system with little or no budget (£120)
would really help me out. Entire system is a stock build, wont overclock (if i could) because i wouldnt know how.

Thanks for your Time and replies!

Wait on the RX 470 to come out and upgrade to that. Sell your R9 270X, add it to your budget and you'll afford it.

That or get an SSD, but the price/GB of those has further to fall and they're not essential for gaming.

Id get a better psu, pastymuncher quote...

"Powercool psu's are absolute garbage. As for recommendations my standard answer is this.

A good quality 550w psu is more than enough for your system even with overclocking so here is a selection of 550-650w units for you to consider:-

Non-Modular (fixed cables)

My basket at Overclockers UK:
1 x Super Flower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black= £59.99
1 x Antec TruePower Classic 550w '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply= £59.99
1 x Super Flower Golden Green HX 650W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black= £71.99
1 x Antec TruePower Classic 650w '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply= £72.95

The Antec units are built by Seasonic and both have a single 12v rail with the 550w having a 540w 12v rail and the 650w having a 648w 12v rail. Both have a 5 year warranty.

The Superflowers are also a single 12v rail design and the 550w version has 546w on it's 12v rail while the 650w version has 648w on it's 12v rail. Both units also have a 5 year warranty.

Modular (removeable cables)

My basket at Overclockers UK:
1 x Super Flower Leadex GOLD 550W Fully Modular '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply - Black= £71.99
1 x EVGA Supernova GS 550W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply= £72.95
1 x XFX XTR Series 550W 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular Power Supply= £72.95
1 x EVGA Supernova GS 650W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply= £84.95
1 x XFX XTR Series 650W 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular Power Supply= £84.95
1 x Super Flower Leadex GOLD 650W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black= £87.95
1 x EVGA Supernova G2 650W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply= £86.99

The Superflower units are both single 12v rail designs with the 550w being able to deliver the whole of it's 550w on the 12v rail while the 650w version can deliver 649w on it's 12v rail. Both have 5 year warranties. Be warned that both of these units have bright white leds where you plug the cables in and they cannot be turned off.

The EVGA units are built by Seasonic and once again are both single 12v rail units. The 550w version has a 540w 12v rail while the 650w version has a 648w 12v rail. Both have a 5 year warranty.

The XFX units are also Seasonic built and are both single 12v rail designs. The 550w version has a 540w 12v rail while the 650w version has a 648w 12v rail. Both units once again have a 5 year warranty.

EVGA G2 650w - Basically a Superflower Leadex gold with a different fan, no leds and a longer warranty. Single 650w 12v rail, fully modular and a 7 year warranty.

Other units worth checking out but not available from OCUK due to being out of stock or simply not sold here are:-

EVGA G2 550w - Basically a Superflower Leadex gold with a different fan, no leds and a longer warranty. Single 550w 12v rail, fully modular and a 7 year warranty.

EVGA GQ 650w - FSP built semi-modular unit with a single 12v rail of 650w and a 5 year warranty.

If it were me I would be tracking down a EVGA G2 as they are cracking units and argueably one of the best platforms currently around.

:D:D:D

It was pointed out to me after I made that post (and quite correctly too) that the Antec Truepower Classics are in fact dual 12v rail units and not single 12v rail units. How I thought they were single rail units I don't know so apolgies for causing any confusion. At the end of the day it makes little difference as they are still very good psu's and good value for money.
