I'm curious as to the currents running through the various cables in my computer. Unfortunately I don't have a current clamp. I do have a multimeter.
So, currently my best idea is to buy some extension cables, cut a wire in half, tie the ends to an ammeter, then turn the computer off, join the wires back together and repeat. This will take hours. Otherwise its possible to measure voltage drop along a known length of cable, guess at what the wire is and work out the current from that. I think this will be terribly inaccurate though.
Any better ideas?
