Low end gaming build - need advice.

(Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced Mini-ITX Case - 39.98 would this fit everything?)


Asus P8H77-I Motherboard - ****

(Any better 1155 boards out there for the price?)

I need my case to be as small as possible BUT if getting an ITX micro mobo and SFF case really ruins it, what small (er) midi towers are out there? Can this mobo even OC? Lol


Corsair CMX8GX3M2B1600C9 XMS 8gb 1600mz 2x4gb - *****

(Prefer Intel over AMD but open to ideas/new mobo etc.)
May seem eccentric, but GPU is one area I wanted to future proof - quad optimised games seem to becoming "slightly" more common, especially with PS4 on the way - should I spend the money elsewhere?

(Like the looks of this for the price BUT would spend £70 more if I went win8 dev preview - what card? Can overclock so prefer AMD to Nvidia)

All tapped out on my Samsung Note so I can't give OC links/pictures (ignorance) and have to be brief. Any glaring problems (insufficient psu etc.) or better/cheaper options for similar power? Not a 1080p fetishist, don't mind playing on low/med options since I'm coming from a console and this is entry level.

The prodigy is still mini-itx but a slightly larger case which is nice to work with. Mobo has a dual bios and 3 year uk based warranty and includes wifi.

2GB 7850, these GPUs overclock well and you get free games with the GPU making them better value really than the Nvidia equivalent.

OEM CPU saves you some cash, we can spend that on a heatsink of our choice for overclocking. Modular PSU is handy with this case and the cable management (you could save money here), does make the build easier and improves the airflow in the case.

1TB HDD is a good size for storage once you drop in a SSD later, the Plextor Pro 128GB would be a good shout. This just gives you an idea, I look forward to seeing what you settle on

To add to the over clocking point, you'll need a good CPU cooler. On an itx board, such as the gigabyte one, its hard to find a big cooler that'll fit. The Asus z77 itx board can take all the big coolers, as its socket position is different.

Or you could go for a CLC, these are small, effective but expensive.

That Gigabyte board has limited voltage adjustment, it's not gonna overclocked beyond 4.2-4.3GHz anyway...so don't really need a too high-end CPU cooling.

For a Prodigy build, if people want to use full size tower cooler, they are indeed limited to the Asus Z77 Deluxe-i for the sake of socket positioning (but at a cost of extra £50)...for other boards that have standard socket position close to the PCI-E slot and ram slots, a small tower cooler with 92mm fans would fit ok (I have recently built a Prodigy build using the Zotac H77-itx board, and the Xigmatek Loki cooler fitted ok with little clearance left without conflicting with the graphic card or the rams).

If it makes it easier, I need a compact computer that can take 30cm+ gpus that uses i5 35xxk and has usb 3.0 support. I can purchase the gpu later, so what would you recommend? Finding a decent case is nigh impossible and even then you have to sacrifice cooler room. If I go atx, not mini itx, are there more options? My budget, non-gpu, would be £500 ish, though cheaper the better obviously xD.
