Low end GPU for Adobe design suite

Hi all,

Looking to spec a machine for a friend who is a designer, so likely going Ryzen 7 etc but wondered what is the lower level GPU I could go with that would still accelerate the Adobe suite but not break the bank?

It's Illustrator, photoshop and in-design she predominantly uses so doesn't need lots of graphics horsepower for Premiere or After Effects and doesn't game.

The 2D apps doesn't really have much GPU acceleration. Photoshop's 3D stuff can benefit from a GPU, but Illustrator literally only has GPU-enhanced animated zoom and pan and I can't even see any options for GPU acceleration in InDesign. After Effects only uses GPUs for building and preview, not for export (last I checked) and I've always had better final renders in Premiere from CPU (although editing on my GTX Titan was glorious on Premiere CS5).

So I guess define "not break the bank": what sort of budget are we talking? A cheapo workstation card might be best. Radeon Pro WX 3100 for £150? Might even be overkill if she's not doing a lot of Photoshop 3D or dragging her zoom around in Illustrator.

The marketing team at work are all using Adobe Creative Cloud and just have onboard graphics. I've never been asked to upgrade them or had any complaints.

I believe Ryzen 7 doesn't have iGPU so you would need a dedicated card.

My wife is a heavy Photoshop user and has a Quadro P600 (using DisplayPort into an Eizo screen - this has 4 DP ports only so will need an adapter for other ports). Its was about £65 second hand. Since installing that card I have had no complaints. Its a cheap and solid card for this sort of productivity.

Edit: the PC is an older i7 4770K so only has Intel HD 4xxx integrated.
