That would give you a nice boost but you will need a new motherboard as well. Your board does not support the new cpu's i am afraid. See here. The Neo-F boards are built down to a budget and should be avoided. From my experiences with them, they are cheap and very nasty, poor quality boards.

Also, if you don't have 64 bit versions of Vista or XP then you will only get to use 3-3.25Gb of ram.

how about :

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5200+ 2.60GHz (Socket AM2) - OEM £48.99 (£42.60)

OCZ Platinum Revision 2 XTC 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Series (OCZ2P800R22GK) £19.99 (£17.38)

Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro PWM CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2) £17.24 (£14.99)

Sub Total : £74.97
Shipping : £7.25
VAT : £12.33
Total : £94.55

Thx for the head up.
I dont want to change my mother board just boost what i can for an easy fit and cheap outlay.

So the link you gave , list all the cpu that will work on my current motherboard, so the Athlon X2 Windsor ADO4600IAA5CS 4600+ 200 woudld work out of the box, yes?

Only using the normal XP version so 4BG would be a waste of a perhasp up to 512MB, i can live with that . the ram wopuild work then.

Cheers

few quid overbudget but u get free dleivery:D so minus the delivery:D

Thx all so far, looks lik I have the CPU and MEM locked down. The next query would be if i would really need the cooler for general non overclocked use ? the review says its large and I cant say wihtout a check later if it would fit !

The motherboard is almost tempting but then the dark side of o/cing creeps in, a bit more here, a little faster there and before you know it I've created a gaming monster.

cheers
