Hi

Just a quicky

I have a xfx6600gt 128Mb and have recently bought another 19" LCD so im running 2 screens from the same card.

When playing css, my fps drop to unplayable levels 10-20 and was wondering if this was down the g/fx card not being powerful enough.

Any thoughts?

I'd think that has at least something to do with it, a standard 6600 isn't all that great a card. What is the rest of your system like? For running two screens and getting decent frame-rates I think you will have to think about upgrading :)

What resolution do you use, what CPU, how much RAM?

I certainly wouldn't use higher than 1024x768 with 2xAA at the most on that card.

I'm running CSS at Medium/High with 2xAA and 4xAF @1280x1024 on my 6600GT 128MB just fine  ~40-50fps average with the odd drop to lower fps, but nothing to spoil the gameplay.

If you disable the second screen when running the game it should be fine

Like others said; What's the rest of your specs, and what settings are you using? A 6600GT really should chew up the Source engine (at least in Half Life 2 and Counter Strike Source) unless you're whacking the HDR on etc.

I have an A64 [email protected] and 1Gb of ram.

I'm running at 1280*1024 all settings for the game are on either low or none, HDR is off.

I reinstalled graphics driver recently which had no effect.

When i play css i load it so it just fills 1 screen up.

Try disabling the second monitor completely before loading up CSS, I had graphical corruption/slow downs on HL2 when I had a second monitor enabled.
