I don't know if somethings wrong or i'm pushing this too hard but if I run TF2 will everything maxed out, all settings and AA & AF full i'm getting like 40 fps ? Shouldn't it be going faster than that ? Running on a Q6600 at 3.00 ghz and 8 gig 1000mhz ram DDR2. Same with L4D 2 demo ?

Check the 3D settings in Catalyst, if you're forcing AA for example this can drop performance, also the type of AA (box, edge detect).

Are you and your friend running identical settings in TF2 and the same resolution. TF2 is CPU limited, you need little graphical power to max it out, a fast processor is what makes the difference.

At 70FPS anyway, you won't be able to see any advantage at 100FPS or higher.

haha. well. catalyst AA forces full screen AA and its a massive hit on performance. in game AA is only acturaly used on selected objects you see on screen

It was CCC it turned everything off and it's now running at lke 200 - 300 fps, why does it do that then ?

You probably moved the slider to optimal quality without realise it changes all the other 3D settings in turn. By default it uses the application's settings ;)

Ahh ic, I notice a hurge difference when I make CCC force AA and AF, games looks brilliant, L4D2 Demo is really good, can't see a jagged edge anywhere but only runs at like 30-40 fps in most places which is kinda annoying. I guess i'm just going to have to find a happy medium. Thought this card would be able to max everything but obviously not.
