I think somethings wrong... I'm getting 32 Average Frames Per Second in the Crysis Benchmark, but only 47 average when playing world of warcraft... My power supply is only 520W, and i'm thinking it might be this, Is there a program that tells me how many Watts im currently using?
I know 30 and above can't really be noticed by the human eye, but it's the principle of having and 8800GTX and not being able to run WoW at 100+... I'm assuming it can go 100+, my 7600Gt when i first got it, ran it at 85FPS...
I also know my CPU is quite low... but should it really be affecting WoW this much...
Almost regret getting the GTX, except to play Crysis :(
Would clocking the GTX to the BFG OC2 make much difference to my FPS?

Crysis pretty much brings a single 8800GTX to its knees on higher detail settings. It's no surprise your getting the score your getting, it seems about right and yes your CPU will hold the 8800 back abit too..

overclock it to 3ghz at least by just razing the fsb u will see around 6 fps difference :) in crysis its much :p

Don't think the e6400 will clock that far, at least, not with my stock cooler... It's running 49C with a couple of webpages, wow and Meseenger... Dunno if that's much load or not...

Also i can't seem to change the FSB on my motherboard. Or i probably can but can't find it anywhere in this BIOS.

i'd suggest investing in an after market cooler for your cpu, you would see a nice difference if you got it overclocked like

I've over clocked it to 2304C, and the temp is 54C. Running WoW,
1280x1024, 8xAA, All settings maxxed.
65 FPS Average.

Could anyone give numbers on what they get at these settings?
Turn off V-Sync, and set Windowed Mode Maximised.

Thanks for the help so far.

And thanks in advance to those who could post some of their FPS for me.

Seriously, I know you guys are trying to help, but did you actually read his post?

He's not complaining about Crysis performance, he's complaining about WoW performance.

You're right to believe that if you're getting 32 avg fps in Crysis, then you should be getting more than 47 avg fps in WoW. I can say with 100% certainty, it is NOT you PSU. You can run a GTX off a 400W (quality) PSU if you wanted (although obviously not recommended) and the HX 520W is a top notch PSU.

I don't know what else to suggest, apart from maybe V-sync, although that would normally suggest 60 fps. It's going to be the WoW software/nVidia driver based though, but unfortunately I've never played WoW (and never plan to). :p

As for overclocking...try to undervolt the CPU a bit. Might sound daft, but if you're putting 1.35v through it, try dropping to 1.3v and see if that helps temps enough to overclock further. Most C2D's can overclock a little bit at reduced voltages, although obviously use Prime95 or Stressprime Orthos for 4-6 hours to test out whether it's stable.

Ah, Thanks Richie P, I turned the voltage down, and the temperature has lowered.
So whats stopping me from lowering it more... and clocking it up to 4GHZ?
Surely lowering the Voltage must limit the CPU in some way..?

WoW gives ridiculous framerates sometimes even on the highest of highest spec machines. Shattrath is notoriously bad, amongst other parts of Outland.

A 2.4Ghz C2D isn't gonna help with WoW performance either.

u have to set it on manual then it becomes visible u should get aftr market cooler will help. and my friend has e4400 and he just raised fsb till he got 3ghz and its stable on prime so it will go to 3ghz no sweat

yeah your right, most E4*** do 3Ghz on stock cooling, my E6750 did 3.2 on stock cooling and still wasn't getting that hot, 49*C isn't much on a CPU designed to be safe running much hotter, CPUs aren't as fragile as most think :p

Edit: if you think that is hot try looking at overclocking reviews of the old prescott chips and see what hot really is
