So I played 20 mins of elite to test this out, but my 3080 is barely in use, even when it's locked at 90fps, and my cpu is sitting around doing sod all as well. So why is my Quest 2 going into reprojection?

Cut out the label for the top bar which is fps.

frametimes are a bit all over the place, so perhaps it's that, but my gpu is at like 50% usage so why is that even happening. CPU is at 20% usage in most cases.

2700X at stock clocks, 16GB 3000MHz RAM, 3080. Seems like I should be cranking supersampling not cutting settings down right?

I'm getting a Low GPU notice in Half Life Alyx on Quest 2 Link.......isn't it still in Beta? Anyway, I think anything through Steam VR stutters and has some problem or other, FallOut 4 VR was the same but when run through OpenComposite it was smooth, have you tried that, bypassing SteamVR ?

I have not, what is opencomposite? Off to google!

It works for a fair few games but something like Alyx is apparently so integrated with Steam it doesn't run. Fallout 4, Skyrim VR work fine, not tried Elite yet

Does your Elite Dangerous Steam license entitle you to a free Oculus one still? I bought E:D on Steam yet could still claim an Oculus license. I could then install and run via Oculus launcher using link. Not sure if you can still do that though...

I watched a video on YouTube where the half life Alyx stuttering was stopped by clicking on its open mini window on the desktop (steamVR) to effectively bring it to the front. Seemed to work. Every time he clicked on it the jitters and frame time smoothed out. Very bizarre yet simple.
move yet to try it.

I’ve also noticed my gpu and cpu sit around the 40% mark the majority of the time.

Not just me then. I'll have a go at having steamvr in focus. Cheers
