Hi!

So as the title says, I am about to break my computer because of this issue :(

Recentrly I added a second r9 280x to my PC. Specs are

Asrock extreme4 Z77
Core I5 2500k @4.3 Ghz
12 MB ram
SSD 120 GB

Thing is that when I disable crossfire, I get around 80-120 FPS avg on Battlefield 4. Then when I enable crossfire, I get worst performance than with a single card, (50-90 FPS avg). The GPUs are working OK, because I´ve tested them separately.

Tried already

Disable ULPS
Tried with another motherboard
Fresh OS install
Connect two CF bridges

And nothing, I get bad performance, and from what I´ve googled, BF4 works great with crossfire.

Any ideas pleaaaaaaaaase :)

Only run one crossfire bridge, clean install of drivers?

Yeap... fresh OS install and only one bridge connected. Weir thing is that when I enable 144hz with only one bridge connected it gives me a blue screen. Have to set it at 120hz. But with the two bridges connected it gives me even worst performance :(

Is it just bf4 ? If so have you tried typing in console RenderDevice.FramePacingMethod 0

Ltmatt is your man for cf issues :)

Tried that too. No luck. And in all games I am getting low GPU usage when CF enabled. With one card I am around 90-100%, but when I enable CF i get 40-60% con each card. No matter the game settings.

Cpu bottleneck for sure. Had I5 2500k with xfire 7950s and also had what your experience in some demanding games.
I7 2600k sorted my low usage.

I have crossfire 7950s with a 2500k and the only game I've noticed a CPU bottleneck is watch dogs. Try heaven 4 benchmark. I get 99% or thereabouts on both gpus during the benchmark, worth a try to compare and see if it's possibly something else that's wrong.

bottleneck in bf4 for sure, bf4 loves threads with xfire :)

can dig up my thread somewhere if your interested, had low gpu usage on xfire 7970s with a 3570k @4.7ghz changed to a 3770k @4.7ghz and got 99% on both cards.

Tell BF4 to use Mantle and see if that helps.

If it doesn't then its either new CPU time or get a single card (that said two 280x with a decent CPU beat a 290 anyway so your call)
