Hey folks,

Trying to low-level format a MyBook external hard drive but not having much joy on any front. I've searched the forums, the internet and tried DBan, KillDisk and GPart and not having any joy.

Is there any program out there that's guaranteed to pick up and destroy data on a USB drive?

Will keep looking.

Thanks. :)

Never tried on USB only ESATA on my "My Book", but boot to Maxtors PowerMax and it will do a Full Low Format (Zero Wipe) (actually is there to fix bad sectors etc) and HDD will be totally RAW.

If you cant find it these days its on the Hirens Boot CD, but you can get it as a Floppy or .ISO.

Take it you got a new G/F and need get rid of Pr0n ? :(

:D Quite the contrary, I just sold the drive on the MM. If the Pr0n wished to exist I would be girlfriend-less.

Thanks, I will give those a stab and hopefully get somewhere.

Sounds to me, you like want KillDisk - it won't low level the drive, but it will securely scrub the drive if that's what you're worried about. ;)
