I read somewhere that there is a low power version of the 3800 x2 am2 and im wondering when it will be available in the uk/OCuk, going to be upgrading soon and i want to get the low power one as hopefully then it will be easier to make my pc silent.

Cheers for any info.

Yeah but there is still gonna be more heat with it, which means i will have to run fans faster to get rid of the heat, i think it would be a lot better to just lower the heat straight away that way i can run my case fans and cpu fans at low speeds, so does anyone have any dates?

They're quite a way off yet iirc, thats the 35W version you'll probably be interested in. The 65W versions are out now iirc.

Also looking at the 35W models, 3500 single core or 3800 X2, for a Shuttle SN27P2. Can't wait as been holding out for an upgrade for a long time now.

When you say quite a bit away how far do you mean, months, a month, a few weeks? Also how hot are the normal 3800 x2, i have an antec super lanboy and with the case fans runnning at about half speed and the cpu fan running at 60% i can keep the cpu under 55c and its pretty silent, if i could keep the normal x2 3800 silent then i might just go for them or even the 4200 depending on funds.
