Can anyone please recommend a cheap card, perhaps one of the decent cards of yesteryear for about £20-30? I've been out of the game for a few years and now all I see are numbers like 3850, 4650, 8800, 9800 and I have no idea what does what! :D

The system is a core 2 duo E6300 @ 2.4GHz, 4GB ram. It doesn't see many games so it's not worth buying a top of the range card. It also needs to be low powered since my PSU is around 380W plus I'd like to passive cool it because I like a nice quiet system :)

Simple a ATI 4670. Its about the same as a Nvidia 8800.
Also this doesn't require any extra adapters as all the power comes through the motherboard.

There about £50, but i managed to pick one up for £36 from the clearance here. Although the bay may be kinder.

I recently fitted an Asus 3450 based card, and it was passively cooled and cost about £25 (a few months back). The 4350 cards maybe be similar price now.

Btw, it was hooked upto a 22" screen via DVI and it worked great (I didn't try anything 3D). If you want to play 3D games at all, you will likely need something more powerful.
