Hi I'm running a i7 950 at stock using latest smp client for the last 36 hours and according to fah spy I'm only pulling 3k ppd is this right? After googling i heard that entering a pass-code for team helps however when i tried to enter mine at setup it wouldn't let me.Is there a way i can update enter posscode without stopping current work unit?

Also have a 1gb 6950, would it be worth folding using this along side the smp client?

Cheers

Which client is it - 6.34 or 7? What's the project number of the WU?

How many cores are actually in use? Use Task Manager to find out.

Entering the passcode is mandatory to make SMP folding worthwhile. You need to start the client with the -configonly flag so, yes, you do need to stop it first.

I wouldn't use an ATI GPU for folding unless you're using the V7 client which has a new core for ATI cards. Otherwise it's just a waste of electricity.

Thanks for replying chaps

It's 6.34 and the only argument i have atm is bidadv.
Can you link me to client 7 so i can fold smp and have my gpu folding too.
The guide on the fah site isn't exactly noob/idiot friendly.I followed guide to setup/configure it correctly but when do i add configonly flag?

cheers fah noob:D

I have memory of a goldfish :(, i actually can't remember posting in that thread at all.
No not lately, i completely forgot about the gpu tracker, re-formatted hdd so lost all my folding stuff a while back.
Gonna download it and give it another bash.

Thanks again.

Edit: i thought i had got it right shortly after setup but smp isnt updating, here are some screenshots of my config.
Determined to get this to work ;)

OK thanks for your help so far guys.I tried folding with both clients and they both went from 5k ppd each then gradually went down to 1/2 k each so i have stopped gpu client for now.
At the moment smp client estimates i will be getting 7/8 k ppd is this right for a quad core cpu at 3.6ghz?Is there a way to increase ppd?Does completing multiple wu in a row without shutting down client give out bonus points?
