Hey guys just wondering if you can give me some advice. Currently running a gtx460 768 as my main folding card in a spare pc made up of a phenom 9650. its running a 6806 WU. Most of the time it'll run these units at full whack but sometimes it'll get part of the way through them and decide it wants to throttle itself. when it does this the wu will the take 3 days to complete and ppd drops to below 1000, its usually up around 10,000 at stock speeds. any help would be appreciated if needed i can provide any logs needed to help.

Have you checked the clock speed in GPU-Z when it runs slow? It could be going into 2D mode, make sure the card isn't overheating. You also could try setting the card to high performance in the nvidia control panel.

yep checked clock speeds still come up as the default 729mhz ( i did have it clocked closer to 800 for a long time) temps are okay under 99% load its only hitting 50c ( when OC was active it's ony be about 4-5c higher). card is already set to high performance in nvcp. thats kinda why i'm stumped, the low ppd i thought would tie in with a 2d clock speed but that doesnt seem to be happening.

If you are running 270 series drivers i would roll back as they are known to be trouble for folding:)

i've just upgraded to the 275.33 about an hour ago, before that was running the 270's. from what i can see so far i havent had the drop in performance so you could well be right on with the driver issue. hopefully the new 275.33 are more folding friendly.
