Hi all,

I'm planning on building an HTPC with a ASUS F1A75-I Deluxe motherboard and a BlackGold BGT3620 PCI-E TV card.

I've not completely settled on a case yet, but the Silverstone ML03 is a strong contender.

So I'm looking for a cooler that is 70mm or less high (to fit in the case) and that doesn't block the PCI-E slot. I'm thinking of getting the Scythe Shuriken, but I can't tell if it'll block the PCI-E slot?

Can anyone suggest a suitable cooler? Thanks :)

It looks as though the Zalman CNPS8900 Quiet would fit, judging by the photographs I found via a Google image search. Quite tricky to be certain though.

Thanks. I'll check it out. It seems to be surprisingly tricky to find this sort of info. :(

Looks like the Thermalright AXP140 without a fan would fit. The heatsink is 70mm high and clears the PCI-E slot: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1602245&page=4

I wonder if I can run the A6-3500 with a passive AXP140?

I've got a AXP140 sitting next to me unused. Reason being - mosfet heatsink (particularly the ASUS Maximus IV Gene). Don't get me wrong I LOVE the AXP140, however if you are seriously thinking about it please check it will clear the NB heatsink on that board. I'm assuming you are planning to install it with the heatpipes running away from the PCI-E slot, just be careful of DIMM height as well.

Interested to see how you get on with this though. Would love to use the AXP140 passively on something small :)

Might be worth a look at the Scythe Shuriken's
