To cut a long story short i decided to build myself an htpc as i was given a Silverstone GD01B-MXR > http://silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=153&area=en
Firstly i thought i'd buy a cheap motherboard etc etc and just build something for day to day media use but that soon went out the window when i picked up a cheap AMD FX8350 and went on some crazy spending spree and ended up with the following HTPC/ gaming system :
AMD FX8350
Asus Crosshair V Formula
Liteon Blueray
Powercolour PCS 270X
Generic wireless card
Corsair 600w psu
Corsair 8gb XMS3
At present i have a Sythe Shuriken N B , but its really not up to the job and gets near throttling point very quickly, the AMD retail heatsink sounds like a hoover.
In my haste i ordered a YOUR BASKET
1 x Noctua NH-L12 CPU Cooler £44.99
Total : £54.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).
But after actually doing some reserch its probably not going to be up to the job
Basically i'd like to run a mild overclock and i need some advice on a good low profile cooler that will do that job.
