Hello Graphics Cards forum!

Be gentle please.

Friend picked up a Compaq HP 8000 Elite small form factor pc box for free from his work and wants to upgrade the graphics, low profile card and backplate, also low profile, required, preferably with HDMI out.

Managed to get a low profile Nvidia NVS 290 Quadro thrown into the deal but comes up with a slower Windows experience rating than the intel on board gfx.

So what would be a decent card for both a bit of gaming at 720p, or even 1080p as it'll be hooked up to a tv, and converting movies from one format to another? Has an I3 quad core helping things along with 8gb of memory.

The NVS 290 is faster at converting than the on board but absolute pants for even NFS Underground, as an example. Would be nice to run GTA IV but that might be a stretch.

Budget is sub £100.

All help/advice much appreciated oh great gurus of all things pc gfx related :D

Look how slow i am ^^^^^ lol

i think your Desktop is PCIe 16x (PCIe 1) this GPU is PCIe 3 and PCIe 2, and will work in a PCIe 16x slot, Provided your Desktop agrees with that, with it being OEM there is no telling what the BIOS setup is, make sure it will work.

Sapphire HD 7750 Low Profile Edition 1024MB GDDR5 £96 (also has HDMI)

Will completley monster your iGPU and NVS 290
