low profile GPU for games @ 1080??

can you game on a low profile GPU. if yes what would i be looking at? i can run 2 if this helps.
i have limited space for a new system and the case must be low profile can i game at 1080 mid to high setting on modem games like overwatch and destiny

or would i need an APU system with hybrid crossfire

Yep, 1050ti is current low-profile performance king.

Benchmarks indicate it's fine for medium-high 1080p on less-demanding games....so should fit your requirements.
 
unless you get an external power gpu thing then 1050ti as mentioned is the best or least the highest going so far, be surprised if many more gets made for low profile, mean they have the itx and mini versions of top end graphic cards from the old gtx 970 to present, but they still full height, it be nice if they could make a 1080 SFF version, probably wouldnt perform well if they ever do.
 
I have the gigabyte 1050ri OC Low profile and it's surprisingly good. In a microserver case where there's not a lot of space ice still managed a 200mhz boost on the chip and 500mhz on the memory and it's stable.
