Ok so a while ago i was looking around for ages to get the best low profile graphics card for my incredibly thin dell dimension c521 *waits to be slated*. I came across a low profile galaxy tech 8600gt. Unfortunatley no one seemed to stock them
.
Anyway after lots of searching i found a club x1650. Considering i had a 128mb x1300 i considered a x1650 256mb a worthwhile upgrade. However, when i plonked the card in and installed the latest catalyst drivers there was barely any fps improvement, maybe 5fps. I was still getting a lame average 30-35fps in counter strike source on high settings bar 2x AA and no AF. After hearing my mate with an x800 was getting over 60fps with top settings i think somethings up.
My full system specs are
2 gigs 533 ddr2
AMD sempron 1.8
256mb x1650 and then a load of dell things ^^.
So any suggestions at to why the low performance. From what i'd heard the x1650 series was supposed to be alright. Or is 35 fps about right?
