Low res capture card or device

Well I have a good capture card atm which can record from 480i up but I also want to be able to record a lot of the dos games I have which play below that rez so that why I am asking in here anyone knows a product that can do this.
Yes i know fraps and dosbox can record but they can cause slows down
 
What is your actual setup? How do you currently record using the card you have, is there any reason you couldn't crop the video in an editor, or scale it down if it captures a low res image at 480i? I'm sure there will be a way to get around it. Looking for old cards to capture lower resolutions sounds like it would cause issues with driver compatibility so it'll be easier to work around the hardware you already have.
 
Its a startech pexhdcap well if i run anything at low res no picture shows :/ in the software they supply not sure if there is any other software which would work if i could get a picture i could crop it in my video editor but its just blank ;p
 
Are you trying to feed a signal in from another system then, as opposed to trying to capture the screen of the system with the card installed?
