hi , i have a quad core that i have had for about 2 years , all 4 cores normally sat at 35c , i just installed a new cooler and now 2 cores are a lot lower than that .
Have i got anything to worry about , ran a few benchmarks and the scores seem the same.

5-6c difference on cores is pretty common on quads. As you state they were all pretty even before, perhaps your thermal paste application/cooler mounting is different from previous. The q6600 i had (even after lapping both cpu and cooler) showed a difference of 6c between cores.

Reseated my cooler and gave it a quick test in prime95 and the temps where still lower on two cores , on 100% load core 2 is 8c lower and core 3 is about 5c.
Is there any way i can test cores individualy for peace of mind.
Or is my Zalman Performa just very good on top of those two cores.

Ok tried realtemp , and still the same

Tried the sensor test and it was still off by about 8c.
just going to ignore it then , if its on its way out its probably because it doesnt like running at 10.3 x 413 1.475v most of the time.

Just figured out what the problem was , the fan on the Zalman performa hangs over the bottom of the heat sink , so one side of the chip is getting a cool breeze .
Turned the fan off and all 4 cores averaged out at 46c
Are the sensors on the motherboard or cpu.

Doh , nope that wasnt it temps are 46,46,40,41
