hi there i am making a big server with about 12 drives to store HD content and mp3s for the house
i have these few components to build it with from a previous pc

cpu - AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5600+ 2.80GHz Retail
board - Gigabyte M750SLi-DS4
ram - 2GB Corsair XMS2-6400C5 Dual Channel Kit
psu - OCZ StealthXStream 600w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply
videocard - Asus GeForce EN7600GS Silent HTD 256MB DDR2 HDTV/DVI (PCI-Express)
cooler - Asus Silent Knight AL CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)

but i want to get a really low power PSU and silent too can anyone recommend a silent one with low wattage

Um. Why? A low wattage psu will not save you electricity. Nor will it reliably run 12 hard drives.

If your system uses 200W of power, then with a 1200W psu it will use 200W of power, with a 300W psu it will use 200W of power, with a silent 120W psu it will break.

Silent psu + that cpu cooler + 12 hard drives = fail, system will still make noise. Stick with the 600W ocz unless you need it elsewhere

edit: discussion of psu efficiency to be found elsewhere. Higher => slightly cheaper bills.
