Im considering getting my other half a Lowepro slingshot 100AW bag, however lowepro are a very expensive brand so are there any alternatives by other manufacturers which offer a similar bag with a single cross chest type strap arrangement?

I have that bag and I love it. There isn't a massive amount of space inside compared to other bags (although they would be more expensive), but room for a camera (lens mounted) and up to four other lenses depending on the configuration. The compartments inside are adjustable / removable too. Waterproofing is good, with the pull-out rain cover if you need it.

You probably knew all that already, but still. Nice bag.

I also too have that bag but the 200AW. I searched for something similar but could not find an alternative. My previous bag was a Crumpler bens pizza large, which was ok for my 350D and sigma 28-200 but when i got my 70-200L it wouldnt fit. the Lowepro fits all my camera gear in (70-200 attached to body) and doesnt really look like a camera bag ,which is another reason why i purchased it too.
Most of the bags i searched on were back pack style which i didnt want as i like to get my camera out really quickly if i see a shot to take.
