Hey everyone
I currently own an AMD 5350 Kabini home server with Asus AM1 and 10GB of RAM.
I then have an SAS PCIEcard where I connect my HDDs - 6x 3TB SATA disks and 1x SSD boot disk.
The system has an idling power consumption of around 86W. Primarily this is because the disks connected to the SAS card never sleep even though they are not in RAID. The system idles at 20W without the disks and SAS card.
I am now considering changing the setup a bit and going to an intel GA-Z170N-WIFI with Core i3-6100T. I will loose one HDD but will gain the sleep functionality on the disks.
Does anyone have any idea what kind of idle power consumption the Intels have?
