Hi, I've noticed after installing Windows 7 that my system volume seems lower than before.

Even when I crank my speakers up to max and turn the volume right up to max in Windows it doesnt rumble mugs off my window ledge anymore.

Is there a way to overide or increase the volume limits set by Windows ?

Edit: There are no other problems with sound other than a noticable decrease in overall volume.

have you checked the volume set in Windows?

I've checked the volume slider in the tray, that was set to max. I also use winamp and have the volume slider set to max there too, plus SRS Audio sandbox is also maxed out where appropriate. I would say its about a 20 percent decrease in volume, not the end of the world but noticable to me.

I don't really know, but you could try installing the manufacturer's drivers

On a clean installation the Windows volume is set at 66%, but of course you've said the Windows volume is set at maximum. Have you checked all of the volume sliders, just in case?

Have you checked that volume is coming from every speaker? A lot of people are having trouble with win7 only using 2.1 channels. I haven't seen any fix for it yet and I've tried every driver there is out there for my audigy 2 soundcard.
