Hi

I have an MP3 file with a 320kbps bit rate quality, and would like to drop it to 256kbs or lower so it will play on my car radio.

Can anyone suggest a good free program to do this for me ?

Thanks

Why won't a 320kbps rip work with your stereo? if it is mp3 it should work

Anyways my suggestion is to re-rip the cd again in V0 using EAC/Foobar.

I re-read the specs (it's a Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB54) and it claims it plays MP3s from 8 kbps to 320 kbps. So I moved the MP3 off the SD Card, formatted it and moved it back - radio then played it fine at 320 kbps.

Thanks for the links though, if nothing else it means I can use them to fit more music on my cards.

Wouldn't like to try shrinking one to 8 kbps though !

hahaha yeah that would sound awful, i find anything under 192kbps (if mp3 to sound awful)

Good to hear you've sorted it, i thought it was a little strange it wouldn't play them heh :)
