hi

I am using corsair 4gb ddr3 1600mhz memory and I want to lower the latency of it.

how would I go about doing that (in the bios obviously) and how will I know when to stop e.g. instability, heat?

EDIT:

is it just the latency setting in the pic below? simple as that?

thanks

Do you have the Corsair XMS3 set or different?

Also, what is your MB/CPU?

If you want to lower the timings, alter the first 4 in the list (eg 9 -9 -9-24)

And to test for stability use memtest - link.

my mobo is a asus m4a89gtd pro/usb3

my cpu is a amd athlon II x3 450 3.2GHz (unlocked to phenom II x4 b50 3.2ghz)

can I damage anything by lowering my latency or will it just become unstable if I go too far?

also do I have to keep the ratio the same between all the numbers or anything like that?

thanks for the reply btw!

that was scary, I lowered my timings to 8-8-8-23 then booted it and it starts saying hardware error and insert windows installation cd to repair lol but its all ok now.

oh yea sorry about the pic lol it should be fine now.
